First Entry.. EEEK!
This is my first really writing out my thoughts into a blog, so forgive me if this first entry sounds kind of awkward. Even though I might be scared, I'm excited to see how the blog grows with every entry.
I wanna share some of what I did over the summer, which was NOTHING! All I did was play video games with friends, and worry about being a senior. If your a film major, you have a thesis project. This semester I'm filming my script. I'm super nervous about it all, and it's going to stress me out. But I'm so excited to see my script come to life, and to share with you guys. Every now and then I'll give you guys updates about the project.

That's it for now, talk to you next time :D!
Hello Again!
Or nice to meet you!
Have you ever watched or listened to something so good and then looked up the promo posters? A lot of work goes into making a poster, a cover etc. And there's always something much more compared to first glance. Last week I created a poster for one of my favorite movies ever, "The Ring".
Something about the poster and the color use catches my eye. For class we have to show use of figurative speech in our posters. So I brainstormed lots of ideas, but I stuck to one that consisted of a static tv, an answered telephone and with a slogan on the top saying "Have A Nice Week! :D" Totally contradicting itself because as you know, once you watch the evil tape you get a phone call that tells you have 7 days left to live.

A thing that I realized I don't always hear metaphoric quotes everyday, unless I don't realize it. So having to pay attention and think about it was a struggle. Also sometimes it feels so natural to say something and you just so realize it. For example, when people say "It's brick out.", no not actually bricks but that it's really really cold. Interesting concepts.

I had a great last week, and hope you all did too! Talk to you later <3
Oops! My bad!
So sorry!
Hope you all had a great week! I completely forgot to add a contact form, and will be doing so now! For some reason I thought I had one up but from this week on you guys will be able to response, so sorry!

Last week in class we were talking about typography, and how much of an impact it has on any audience. The audience can be anyone, for example looking at a NIKE ad or someone reading your résumé! Your goal is to capture someone's attention for at least 5 seconds, and in those 5 seconds they're able to feel something.
And even for me, I find myself giving judgement on an ad and if I don't like it from the first initial reactions, I'm most likely not going to look at it again. Now that I know I do that, I feel bad not giving things more of a chance, but I tend to forget to what it even was.

I do have one question, did my title catch your eye? Did you wonder what I was apologizing for? HAHAH! Let me hear your feed back, and see you all next time :D.
Time flies..
Mid-Semester Thoughts
I can't believe it's already of the middle of semester. Writing these blogs have the best part of the semester. It's a break from my other classes that kind of stress me out especially since I'm a senior. I also think I'm just adding additional stress just from my anxieties. Watching refreshing short videos about different topics really helps my brain function again, learning about the same stuff becomes stale.
I remember feeling anxious about starting a blog because it's hard for me to write out my thoughts, and it has been a learning process for sure. I tend to think I'm either writing too much or too little, but I've learned if I don't have anything else to say. I'm very excited to read my blogs at the end because I'm trying not to read the older ones! HAHA!
Something I feel like I have to mention is that all the cute Halloween photos I use are supported by WIX, so thank you so much!
Typography
Does this effect how you read things?
Do you ever realize how something looks makes you feel a type of way? For example, looking at a logo, have you ever realized every letter is placed has a purpose. Each spacing, size, and coloring has it's purpose. So look at the format of my blog, The title is the biggest size compared to the rest. I wanted that to capture your attention compared to the rest. I CAN MAKE THIS SO BIG!
But that just looks out of place with everything! Even when making a happy birthday card, and how you format it matters. You can do whatever you want to it, but you are still planning every word or letter out to how you like it.
Propaganda
It's all around us.
All of my life I thought all propaganda was bad because of what I taught in school. But I didn't realize what the term really means. Propaganda means to persuade you by using emotions to believe something. There can be negative and positives emotions developed from this.

You can find it in posters, commercials, or even memes! Sometimes I feel like I've seen things and now look back at it I have realized that was propaganda! During this years presidential election, there was so much of it! You see them a lot on TV and YouTube Ads, short commercials wanting you to go against this person and stand by them.
The visuals, and sounds have a huge way of manipulating your mind, and each thing used has its own purpose. Depending on who you are, these Ads will have an effect on you.
Wayfinding and Maps
How do I get around?
I never knew the little signs at a store or a park had an actual name, I just thought they were called signs. They can have wording or a visual, which can both be very useful or confusing. Just from personal experience, sometimes the visual doesn't really match what it's trying to say. But Maps can be just as confusing and hard if you don't know how to read them. Now we have devices to help you read them, but if they are still paper maps which are cool to see. I know like apps like DoorDash will send you an exact location of where your order has been placed which is cool
Visuals on Health Communications
Why is this so important?
Now that fall is over, winter is coming which means colder weather and everyone is more prone to getting sick. Visuals are very important when you learn about anything for the first time. It's scary not knowing what things look like or what they can look like. I think starting to learn about health at a young age is very important because I feel like that's when it will stick into our minds. We are exposed to it, so we can ask more questions. It gives us less anxiety when speaking about it because you're not alone. We can see all types of situations, and bring awareness.
This is the end!
It's been fun!
I feel like this semester went by so fast, but I say that every semester haha! I love scrolling through the blog and seeing the pictures match the season. I really enjoyed reading everyone's blogs and their thoughts. I wish everyone a happy holidays and I hope the new year brings everyone great success and happiness.
